Biography


Howard Beck's practice includes commercial real estate, homeowner associations and civil and commercial litigation.  He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Nevada at Reno and his J. D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law, where he was the Managing Editor of the Denver Law Journal. 

Howard has completed the advanced trial advocacy program of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.  He is a member of the American, Colorado and Denver bar associations and the Faculty of Federal Advocates-Colorado.  He is admitted to practice before all Colorado Courts, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. 

With his extensive background and experience in real estate, construction, construction claims (including public project bonding), partnership and commercial litigation, Howard has been lead counsel in a number of complex civil litigation matters, including appellate work.  He has represented physicians and medical practices, including leveraged transactions involving the sale of non-practice assets and represents creditors in complex bankruptcy matters.  

In addition to providing general representation to a number of homeowner associations in the Denver Metro and mountain communities, Howard has, on several occasions, been asked to act as an expert witness for complex homeowner association litigation matters in these areas.

Howard has also frequently written and lectured on homeowner association (“HOA”), common interest community and trial/litigation matters including as an author and a presenter.  Most recently he authored and presented for “Community Associations In a Distressed Market”, NBI, August 17, 2009 and "How to Deal with Impossible Clients, Witnesses and Opposing Counsel in Litigation" (Co-Author and Co-Presenter, NBI, June, 2011).
